A long-established niche electronic components design and manufacturer in the Newcastle area is seeking a General Manager to join their team. The role offers a very competitive salary in addition to an annual productivity bonus of up to 20%, the first £3,600 of which is paid free of tax. The successful General Manager candidate is likely to have 5 years experience in an Operations / Commercial role and be able to demonstrate a track record of delivering profitable sales growth.
The General Manager role forms an integral part of this successful SME and will work closely with the Managing Director to lead and direct the team, taking an active part in all aspects of the business including Sales, Operations, Quality Assurance, Technical and Administrative functions.
As the General Manager your responsibilities will include:

Plan, implement and deliver short and long-term business plans

Actively seek new business opportunities and develop strategies to secure sustainable profitable growth

Direct and support QA, Operations and HR functions to ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements

Champion “Continuous Improvement” throughout the business.

Liaise with all external partners to ensure business needs are fully met
We are looking for a General Manager with the following experience:
-
A seasoned and experienced manager with a working knowledge of all business functions
-
5 years experience of working in an Executive role / part of the Senior Management Team

Successfully implemented improvements and brought about effective cultural and functional change

Has promoted continuous Improvement and implemented cost reduction changes

Shown to be a forward planner who critically and objectively assesses own performance and that of others
The skills and qualifications of the successful General Manager will include:

Degree qualified or similar level in a relevant field
-
Strong communicator who is able to motivate both individuals and teams
-
Experienced, credible and comfortable dealing at all levels within the company, with customers, suppliers and external partners

Reliable, tolerant, determined, well-presented and business like.
Your normal working hours will be 8.30 am – 4.30 pm, will enjoy 32 days holiday (inc stats) and will of course participate in the pension scheme.
