We are currently handling a vacancy for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to undertake a 12-month maternity cover contract. Based on the outskirts of Newcastle upon Tyne, you will be working with a long-established engineering business, and will support a team of 4 in the Purchase Ledger function. This is a great opportunity to undertake a 12-month contract in a friendly environment with regular office hours which include an early finish on Friday’s. As a Purchase ledger Clerk you will receive a competitive salary and an annual holiday allowance of 25 days plus B/Hs.
Reporting to the Accounts Manager your duties as a Purchase Ledger Clerk will include:
  • Processing invoices
  • Statement reconciliation
  • Processing electronic payments
  • Liaising with suppliers
  • Banking and reconciliations
  • Issuing customer statements
We are looking for a Purchase Ledger Clerk with the following:
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Confident communicator
  • Accurate processor who can work to deadlines
  • An experienced user of software, particularly Excel spreadsheets
You will be working a 36.5 hour week which includes an early finish on a Friday, with an annual holiday entitlement of 25 days plus bank holidays.
