Kelburn Recruitment are proud to be working with a company who have a global presence providing diesel power sales, maintenance and repairs to clients in the Marine and Oil & Gas sectors. Due to business demand an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Service Manager to join the team.
To be considered for the Service Manager position you must have prior experience of managing the day to day operations of a service department, a knowledge of medium and high-speed diesel powered engines and experience of working within the Marine sector. The successful candidate is likely to be based within commuting distance of Newcastle but must be prepared to travel on company business as required.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, duties for the Service Manager will include:
  • Ensure Service Level Agreements are met with all customers
  • Management of labour utilisation
  • Responsibility to fully understand work scopes as required by customer and OEM, and accurately quote and manage major engine overhauls
  • Profit delivery in accordance with budget expectations
  • Ensure targets outlined in the business plan are met
  • Ensure that work standards comply with the requirements of the QHSE systems, helping to maintain the accreditations and that all employees are conversant with the QHSE system
 
We are looking for a Service Manager with the following:
 
  • A proven track record in marine management
  • Knowledge of medium / high speed engine and ancillary equipment
  • QHSE Knowledge
  • Management skills such as motivation, training and development
  • Applications engineering skills, specifically to plan and undertake engine replacements and renewals.
  • Propulsion system knowledge and experience
  • Preparation of technical tenders
  • Excellent communication skills
 
The successful applicant will work a standard 39 hour week with an early Friday finish, will benefit from an attractive salary package and enjoy 25 days plus statutory holidays p.a.
