The Role:
• Understand customer needs and translate them into innovative design solutions
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within cost, quality and timescales
• Design review on new product
• Develop design concepts that comply with legislative requirements
• Develop test plans to ensure that products satisfy customer needs
• Analyse components and products to identify areas of cost reduction and product improvement
• Involved in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
• Review new product designs
The Person:
• Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience with 3D and 2D software, Inventor advantageous but not essential
• Previous design and product development within a manufacturing environment
• A background working in steel and/or vacuum forming would be advantageous
• Able to develop test plans
• Strong verbal and written communicator who is computer literate
• Hold a full UK Driving License
